20. WEDDING // SS 2024
For Spring/Summer 2024, Acephala imagines a wedding as a remix of tradition and contemporaneity — a meeting point of different generations, aesthetics and contradictions. Photographed against a set inspired by Polish wedding halls of the 1990s, the campaign plays with convention through a touch of Lynchian surrealism. The collection brings together folk references, lingerie details, classic tailoring and sporty cuts, combining lace, knitwear, wool, taslan, layered ruching and frayed edges. Peasant and folk motifs are translated into a contemporary language through sculptural dresses, kontusz-inspired sleeves and handwoven corsets made from leftover fabrics. Created from scraps, deadstocks and unused archival materials, many of the pieces were produced in very limited quantities. Rather than occasionwear, the collection becomes an eclectic wardrobe designed for comfort, versatility and everyday freedom.
