Attitudes Passionelles
Spring/Summer 2015
Acephala’s debut collection, titled Attitudes Passionelles, is a statement on hysteria as a source of woman power and paradigm of XXI-century identity, blurring the boundaries between art, fashion and feminism. By appropriating details found in XIX-century photographs from Salpêtrière Hospital, Acephala incorporates visual codes of hysteria into contemporary garments. Prints were designed from medical drawing; forms are soft and sensual with distinctive asymmetries and folds.
